Inventory Move
Relocate inventory between warehouse locations. Move all or partial quantities with LPN support, hold awareness, and automatic transaction logging.
What is Inventory Move?
Inventory Move is the process of relocating inventory from one warehouse location to another without changing quantities. Unlike adjustments (which change counts) or replenishment (which follows rules), moves are direct transfers—you decide what goes where.
The process starts by scanning the FROM location. JASCI displays the product, lot/serial information, LPN, and current quantity. Then choose: Move All to transfer everything, or Move to enter a specific quantity. Finally, scan the destination and confirm.
LPN Handling on Partial Moves
When you do a partial move from an LPN-controlled location, the original LPN stays with the remaining inventory. The moved portion needs a new LPN—you'll be prompted to scan one. This keeps license plate tracking accurate across splits.
Multi-product locations with inventory holds are handled intelligently: if one product is on hold, you can still move other products from the same location. Holds don't block unrelated inventory.
Two Ways to Move
Choose full transfer or specify exact quantities
Move All
Transfer the entire quantity from source to destination in one action
- Single confirmation step
- LPN travels with inventory
- Faster for full relocations
Move (Partial)
Transfer a specific quantity, leaving the remainder at the source
- Enter quantity to move
- New LPN required for split
- Validated against available qty
Common Use Cases
When to use Inventory Move
Warehouse Reorganization
Relocate inventory during slotting changes or zone restructuring
Consolidation
Combine partial quantities from multiple locations into one
QC Holds
Move product to QC/hold areas for inspection without adjusting quantities
Forward Pick Stocking
Ad-hoc moves to forward pick locations outside normal replenishment
Key Capabilities
Flexible, validated inventory relocation
Move All or Partial
Two options: "Move All" transfers the entire quantity, or "Move" to specify exactly how many units to relocate.
FROM Location Validation
Scan the source location. Invalid or empty locations are rejected. Product, quantity, and inventory controls are displayed.
TO Location Validation
Scan the destination location. System validates it's a valid location before allowing the move.
LPN-Controlled Support
For LPN-controlled locations, full moves transfer the LPN. Partial moves require scanning a new LPN for the split inventory.
Hold-Aware Logic
Multi-product locations with holds allow other (non-held) products to still be moved. Holds don't block the entire location.
Automatic Transactions
Every move creates an inventory transaction record. Full audit trail of what moved, when, and where.
Inventory Move Workflow
Scan, choose, move—with full validation

Scan FROM Location
Scan the source location. System displays product info, lot/serial data, and current quantity.
Choose Move Type
Select "Move All" for full quantity or "Move" and enter specific quantity for partial.
