Shipment Closeout
Close out carrier shipments at end of day or truck departure. View all carriers, package counts, and ASN details before finalizing manifests and completing the shipping cycle.
What is Shipment Closeout?
Shipment Closeout is the final step in the shipping process, where you finalize carrier manifests before trucks depart or at the end of the shipping day. Found under Outbound → Ship → Shipment Closeout, it provides a summary view of all carriers and their package counts, allowing you to review and close out each manifest.
The workflow begins by scanning your workbench, which loads all pending shipments for that station. You see each carrier with their total package count, and can either close out directly or drill into details to review individual ASNs and their associated information before finalizing.
Key Advantage
Shipment Closeout ensures no shipments are left behind. By reviewing carrier summaries before closing, you catch any missed packages or processing errors. Once closed, the manifest is finalized and ready for carrier pickup.
Shipment Closeout works in conjunction with Load Truck (for recording individual loads) and Viewpoint Load (for monitoring progress). Together, these features provide complete control over the final stage of warehouse operations.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Shipment Closeout
QWhen should I close out shipments?
Close out shipments when a carrier truck is departing or at end of day before carrier pickup. The closeout finalizes the manifest, so do it when you're certain no more packages will be added to that carrier for that run.
QWhat's the difference between Load Truck and Shipment Closeout?
Load Truck records individual package loads as they happen (scan door, scan LPN). Shipment Closeout finalizes the entire carrier manifest after loading is complete. Load Truck is for recording; Closeout is for finalizing.
QCan I close out carriers individually?
Yes, you can close out each carrier independently. This is useful when different carriers have different pickup times. Close out FedEx when their truck leaves, then close out UPS when theirs arrives later.
QWhat does the Detail view show?
The Detail view shows individual ASNs (Advanced Ship Notices) for a carrier, including tracking numbers, weights, and other shipment information. Use it to verify everything is correct before closing out.
QCan I undo a closeout?
Closeouts are typically final actions. If you need to add more shipments after closing, you may need supervisor assistance to reopen the manifest or process additional shipments in a new batch. Check with your administrator.
QWhy do I need to scan a workbench?
Scanning the workbench identifies which station's shipments you're closing out. Different workbenches may have different shipment queues, and the scan ensures you're working with the correct set of packages.
QWhat happens after I close out?
After closeout, the manifest is finalized and marked as ready for carrier pickup. The carrier can receive the manifest electronically, and those shipments are removed from your pending queue. The closeout is timestamped for records.
QHow does this relate to carrier compliance?
Many carriers require manifests to be closed by cutoff times for same-day processing. Shipment Closeout ensures you meet these deadlines and provides timestamps proving when shipments were finalized for compliance purposes.
