What is Load Truck?

Load Truck is the operational workflow for recording shipment loading at dock doors. Found under Outbound → Ship → Load Truck, it provides scan-based verification that confirms each LPN or ASN is loaded onto the correct truck at the right door.

The workflow is straightforward: scan the dock door to identify where the truck is located, then scan each LPN or ASN as you load it. The system records each load event with timestamps and validates that the shipment belongs at that door, preventing misloads before they happen.

Key Advantage

Load Truck creates a complete audit trail of what was loaded, when, and by whom. This traceability is critical for claims resolution, carrier disputes, and proving delivery compliance. No more "did we load that?" questions.

Load Truck works hand-in-hand with Viewpoint Load for monitoring and Shipment Closeout for finalizing loads. Together, they provide complete visibility and control over the final mile of warehouse operations.

Why Load Truck Matters

Verified loading prevents costly shipping errors

Misload Prevention

Scanning validates each shipment belongs at that door. Wrong truck? The system alerts you before the error ships.

Complete Audit Trail

Every load event is timestamped and recorded. Full traceability for claims, disputes, and compliance.

Simple Workflow

Scan door, scan LPN. That's it. No complex screens or data entry—just fast, accurate loading verification.

Load Truck Workflow

Simple scan-based loading verification

01

Scan Door

Scan or enter the dock door ID where the truck is located and ready for loading.

02

Scan LPN/ASN

Scan each LPN or ASN barcode as you load it onto the truck. System validates and records.

03

Repeat

Continue scanning shipments until all orders for that door are loaded. Progress tracked automatically.

What You Get with Load Truck

Load Truck transforms loading from an untracked activity into a verified, auditable process with real-time visibility.

Door Validation

System confirms shipment is assigned to the scanned door before accepting the load.

Timestamp Recording

Every load event recorded with exact time for complete traceability.

User Attribution

Know who loaded each shipment for accountability and training purposes.

Misload Alerts

Immediate warning if scanning a shipment at the wrong door.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Load Truck

QWhat's the difference between Load Truck and Viewpoint Load?

Viewpoint Load is a monitoring dashboard that shows all dock doors and their status—it's for supervisors to oversee operations. Load Truck is the operational workflow that loaders use to actually scan and record shipments being loaded. Viewpoint Load shows what's happening; Load Truck makes it happen.

QCan I scan an LPN/ASN at any door?

The system validates that the scanned shipment is assigned to the door you're loading. If you scan a shipment at the wrong door, you'll receive an alert. This prevents misloads by catching errors before shipments leave on the wrong truck.

QWhat if I scan the wrong LPN?

If the LPN doesn't belong at that door, the system alerts you immediately. You won't be able to record it as loaded at that door. Simply scan the correct LPN or move to the correct door for that shipment.

QDoes Load Truck track who loaded each shipment?

Yes, every load event is recorded with the user who performed the scan, along with the timestamp. This provides full accountability and helps identify training needs if errors occur.

QCan I see loading progress while I work?

Yes, Load Truck shows you how many shipments have been loaded vs. how many remain for that door. You can track progress in real-time as you scan each LPN/ASN.

QWhat's an ASN in this context?

ASN (Advanced Ship Notice) is an alternative identifier for shipments, particularly common in B2B shipping. Load Truck accepts both LPN barcodes and ASN barcodes, using whichever identifier your operation uses.

QHow does this help with claims and disputes?

Load Truck creates a complete, timestamped record of every shipment loaded. If a carrier or customer claims something wasn't shipped, you have proof of when it was loaded, at which door, and by whom. This dramatically speeds up claims resolution.

QDo I need to close out the door when loading is complete?

Load Truck records individual load events. For closing out the complete shipment and finalizing the load, you would use Shipment Closeout. Load Truck and Shipment Closeout work together—Load Truck for recording, Closeout for finalizing.
